Laura Hurd Award favorite Teal Gove scored twice to lead the Plattsburgh Cardinals past St. Norbert, 5-2, in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.<\/p>\n
Plattsburgh State got on top early in the first when Mia Favretto passed it to Gove at the back door and Gove punched it in at 3:14.<\/p>\n
Plattsburgh continued its strong start with a power-play goal from Chelsea VanGlahn with just three seconds left in the first.<\/p>\n
Gove notched her second of a rebound of an Emma Rutherford shot at 14:54 of the second period. Shannon Stewart put the game out of reach at 18:03, scoring on her own rebound.<\/p>\n
St. Norbert made a push in the third, scoring at 8:14 on Zoe Kurth’s 12th of the year after she forced a turnover in the neutral zone.<\/p>\n
The Green Knights pulled within two when Henriette Ostergaard hit twine at 16:23, but before St. Norbert could get any closer, Rutherford went end-to-end and scored on a backhand at 17:08.<\/p>\n
