Both teams are fledging varsity programs. <\/p>\n<p>Lake Forest&#8217;s Theresa Taylor got the win in net by recording 28 saves, including 13 in the decisive third period. <\/p>\n<p>Lydia Groskin scored a power-play goal with just under five minutes to play in the second period for the game&#8217;s only tally through two periods. <\/p>\n<p>UW-Eau Claire&#8217;s Megan Christopherson tied the game 1:18 into the third period, but Lake Forest responded just 12 seconds later when Tory Solley found the back of the net for the fourth time this season.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Beebe added an insurance goal at the 8:31 mark. <\/p>\n<p>UW-Eau Claire outshot the Foresters, 29-18, on the day, but went scoreless on five power-play attempts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lake Forest picked up its first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win, 3-1 over Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday.
