Shana Frost scored a pair of goals and freshman Kelli Halcisak had a goal and two assists as Ohio State upset second-ranked Minnesota 4-2 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Gophers jumped on top just one minute, 37 seconds into the opening period as Ambria Thomas converted a Laura Slominski rebound for her fifth goal of the season.<\/p>\n

Halcisak evened the score with 5:09 to play in the period when her shot from the right point went in.<\/p>\n

Frost scored the first of her two goals early in the second period and Corinne Rosen’s goal with 5:23 left in the period finished Minnesota goalie Erica Killewald, who gave way to Stefanie Johnson for her collegiate debut.<\/p>\n

After outshooting Minnesota 7-1 in the second period, the Buckeyes took a 4-1 lead on Frost’s second goal of the game before Ronda Curtin scored with 4:21 to play in the game.<\/p>\n

Ohio State outshot the Gophers 23-16 with April Stojak making 14 saves for the Buckeyes. Killewald had 12 saves on 15 shots while Johnson stopped seven of eight shots. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
