ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Brad McGowan scored four times, capping off his performance with one of two empty-net goals scored by Rochester Institute of Technology in a series-clinching, 7-3 victory over Air Force on Saturday.
The Tigers (17-14-5) swept their Atlantic Hockey quarterfinal series with the Falcons (16-21-4).
McGowan put RIT ahead 1-0 in the second period, then provided some cushion with a pair of goals in the first 8:17 of the third for a 4-1 lead.
The Tigers’ top line combined for six goals and five assists in the rout. Josh Mitchell had a goal and three assists for the Tigers, while linemate Matt Garbowsky posted a goal and two assists.
Ben Kucera, Cole Gunner and Max Hartner scored for the Falcons.
