ORONO, Maine – For the second straight night, 65 minutes of hockey wasn’t enough to decide anything between visiting New Hampshire and host Maine as the teams skated to their second tie of the weekend, this time a 3-3 final.
The Wildcats held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on goals by Ara Nazarian and Richard Boyd. But Maine goals by Canon Pieper and Chase Pearson gave the Black Bears the lead with 11:13 remaining.
New Hampshire, for the second straight night, found the equalizer, this one coming with 9:58 left in regulation.
And for the second straight night, the goaltenders were active with Jeremy Swayman stopping 27 shots for Maine and Danny Tinore making 33 saves for the Wildcats.
