Jonathan Charbonneau scored 31 seconds into the first period and finished with two goals as the Lakers raced past Holy Cross on Saturday night.
One night after the teams combined for 11 goals, Brandon Wildung stopped all 34 shots he faced. In total, the Crusaders outshot the Lakers, 34-19, but failed to crack for a goal. Derek Barach added two goals of his own, scoring his 12th and 13th goals of the season. Both Charbonneau and Barach scored a power-play goal to go along with even-strength strikes.
Wildung recorded his third shutout of the season and sixth career clean sheet despite the decided shot disadvantage. That said, the Lakers outshot the Crusaders in the third period, 9-7, after being outshot 27-10 in the first two frames of play.
