Five different players scored for Air Force on Saturday night as they defeated Mercyhurst, 5-1. Air Force opened the scoring with a quick goal at 3:47 of the first period by Trevor Stone. Merychurst briefly tied the game at one 42 seconds into the second period, but Air Force exploded for four straight unanswered goals.
Pierce Plumber made it 2-1 Air Force at 4:15 of the second and the Alex Mehnert gave them a two-goal lead less than a minute later. Zach Mirageas made it 4-1 in the final minute of the second period and Evan Giesler scored Air Forces’ fifth goal of the night at 18:08 of the third period.
