Bowling Green, Lake Superior, Skate To Scoreless Tie

Bowling Green ended its weekend series at Lake Superior on Saturday with a scoreless tie at Taffy Abel Arena. Junior Jordan Sigalet recorded his second career shutout by stopping 36 Laker shots on goal.

The Falcons held a 12-9 shot advantage in the first period, but LSSU held a 36-30 advantage for the game. BGSU freshman Mark Voakes and junior Ryan Minnabarriet had a team-high four shots.

Both teams were held scoreless on the power play with BGSU finishing 0-for-2 and LSSU finishing 0-for-3. The three penalty kills moves the Falcons’ streak to 36-straight opponent power plays without allowing a goal.

Senior Mark Wires’ point streak ended at six games, a new career high. Freshman Nick Lang played in his second career game with one shot attempt.

The Falcons are now 3-5-3 overall and 2-4-2 in the CCHA, while Lake Superior is now 4-3-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the CCHA.
