Mercyhurst rolled past Connecticut, 9-0, in a MAAC game Saturday at the UConn Ice Arena.
Brad Olsen scored two goals and two assists for Mercyhurst, and Louis Goulet added two goals and one assist. Peter Rynshoven netted two goals and one assist and Mike Muldoon had a goal and two assists, while Marty Rychley had two assists for the Lakers.
Despite the loss, UConn outshot Mercyhurst, 49-39. Jason Carey, Paul Morrissey and Artie Imbriano all played in net for UConn, making a combined 30 saves. Peter Aubry stopped all 49 Connecticut shots on goal.
With the loss, Connecticut fell to 3-8-2 overall, 3-4-2 in the MAAC, and suffered its fifth shutout of the season. Mercyhurst improved to 7-5-2 overall, and an undefeated 6-0-2 in the league.
