Keyed by five straight goals midway through the contest, Providence defeated Findlay, 8-3, Saturday at Schneider Arena.
The Friars jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead on power-play goals by sophomores Meredith Roth and Danielle Culgin.
The Oilers cut the lead to 2-1 at the 3:34 mark of the second period on a goal by Monell Schroeder.
However, Providence then scored five unanswered goals in the second, led by junior Melanie Ruzzi and sophomore Darlene Stephenson with two each.
Also, freshman Ashley Payton tallied her first collegiate goal in the second period as she finished with one goal and two assists.
Providence outshot Findlay, 29-16. PC freshman goaltender Amy Thomas made 13 saves in her collegiate debut to earn the win. Erin Blair and Nickie Kelly combined to make 21 saves for the Oilers.
With the win, the Friars improved to 2-2, while the Oilers fell to 1-5.
