Kim Green scored twice and Brooke White added two assists to lead the Northeastern Huskies (2-0-0) to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Vermont Catamounts(0-4-0) in women’s hockey action this afternoon.
After Vermont and Northeastern played through a scoreless first period, the Huskies notched three goals in seven minutes late in the second.
Green recorded her first tally of the afternoon on a power play at 13:37 of the second period. Five minutes later she netted her second goal at 18:23, and Brooke Whitney followed at 19:45 with her first of the season.
Northeastern added two more in the third period to earn its second victory of the year.
Chanda Gunn and Marisssa Hourihan shared the goaltending duties for Northeastern, combining for 15 saves. Junior All-American goalkeeper Tiffany Hayes made 49 saves in net for the Catamounts.
Next up for Vermont is a trip to St. Lawrence Oct. 26-27, while the Huskiestravel across town to face Boston College Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2:00 p.m.
