Keyed by Stephen Fabiilli’s 20 saves, Canisius College shut out the Connecticut 2-0 at the Buffalo State Sports Arena on Saturday evening.
Lucas scored the game-winning goal at the 14:27 mark of the first period, with assists from Marc Bouffard and Kyle Allen.
Bouffard then added an insurance tally with less than four minutes remaining in regulation, with help from Lucas and Chris Duggan.
Jason Carey suffered the loss in net, stopping 23 shots on goal for UConn.
The loss drops UConn (10-16-4, 10-9-3) to fifth place in the conference standings, while Canisius (13-10-3, 11-8-3) moves into the fourth place.
