Notre Dame alum Sheahan named Irish volunteer assistant

Former Notre Dame defenseman Brock Sheahan has been added to the Irish staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2013-14 season. He replaces Jason Nightingale, who served as the team’s volunteer assistant coach the last two seasons, and was hired by the Buffalo Sabres in August as a hockey data analyst.

Mandy Hansen has been named Minnesota’s assistant director of athletic communications and will serve as the primary media contact for women’s hockey. Colgate’s all-time leading scorer Mike Harder has been hired by the team as a volunteer assistant coach. Harder tallied 88 goals and 126 assists for 214 points and also enjoyed a 13-year pro playing career. He coached last season with I Play Harder (IPH) Hockey.
