HEWBA awards announced with Boston University’s Eichel leading the way

The Hockey East Writers and Broadcasters Association has announced its award winners for the 2014­-15 season. Boston University freshman ​Jack Eichel​ is a unanimous selection for Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, First Team All­-Star and an All-Rookie Team member. Boston University head coach ​David Quinn​, who helped lead the Terriers to an 11­-win turnaround from the 2013­-14  regular season, was named the association’s Coach of the Year. Ballots were received from print, web and broadcast media covering the 12 league schools, as well from as regional and national media. The official Hockey East awards will be announced by the league at its annual banquet on Thursday night.
