Word spread quickly through college hockey circles as a member of “the family” was lost in Tuesday’s horrific tragedy.
On a day of immense tragedy in U.S. history, the news hit home to the college hockey world when it was learned that former BU forward Mark Bavis was killed aboard American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City.

Merrimack coach Chris Serino has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his neck. The decision as to whether chemotherapy or radiation treatments are needed is pending. The impact on Serino’s ability to coach full-time will depend on the treatment.
