Joe Heydenburg, a former assistant women’s coach at Oswego and St. Anselm, died last Friday at the age of 52, Lakers coach Diane Dillon said.
The Rensselaer men’s and women’s hockey teams have each added a volunteer assistant coach for the 2014-15 season. Former Engineers’ standout Marc Cavosie will work with the men’s team, while Robert Cathcart III will be with the women’s program.
Last year, four teams lost their opening weekend exhibition games, and three went on to have winning records at the end of the season.
