MSU Tapped At Somber CCHA Media Day

It was a somber CCHA media day this time around. The 12 coaches of the conference mourned the loss of Maine coach Shawn Walsh, while talking about the rest of the tragedy that has befallen the nation. But with practices starting up, the leaders of the CCHA agreed to honor their fallen comrades and then turn their heads towards hockey.

Ferris State Loses Osaer to NHL

Ferris State goalie Phil Osaer has decided to forego his senior season to sign with the St. Louis Blues organization. He was a seventh round selection (203rd overall) of the Blues in the 1999 NHL Draft.

McDonald succeeds Wilkinson as Ice Hockey Committee Chair

The NCAA has appointed four people to various positions on the ice hockey selections and rules committee, and named Quinnipiac athletic director Jack McDonald as the chair of the NCAA Ice Hockey Committee. OSU AD Explains Ganga’s Dismissal

Another Frustrating End

For Michigan State, it was a familiar, unhappy end. The Spartans were eliminated from the NCAA tournament Thursday by North Dakota, marking the eighth straight NCAA bid in which MSU has failed to reach the title game. Chris Lerch reports.
