The Michigan Tech Huskies are used to the long bus rides from the Upper Peninsula to Detroit. It’s a trip they’ve made every year since 1965 for the Great Lakes Invitational.

Arizona State, Boston College, Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan head to Las Vegas this weekend for the inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational at T-Mobile Arena.

The Falcons powered their way to the championship of the Great Lakes Invitational, had a trio of players honored with WCHA weekly honors, and started checking off boxes that could be lining the road for the first NCAA tournament bid since 1990.

The Great Lakes Invitational field this year includes host Michigan Tech, Michigan, Michigan State and invitee Bowling Green. The event will be held for the first time at the brand-new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
