The last four teams now travel to Utica, NY to battle it out in the Frozen Four for the national championship. Two teams from the east will face two teams from the west in Friday’s semifinal round to determine the championship title contenders to play on Sunday. There are lots of great storylines including the obvious hunt by Hobart for a fourth consecutive NCAA title and an undefeated season.
After a 2-2 quarterfinal round I now stand at 7-3 with three games remaining on the season. Channeling last year’s success and hoping to nail the final three games of the 2025-26 season:

NCAA Semifinal Round Games
(7) Wisconsin – Stout v. (1) Hobart
The Blue Devils have been exceptional all season and now face their biggest challenge in the Big Orange Machine that is the unbeaten Hobart Statesmen. Like last week, this game will be close and playing with the lead will be super important in determining the eventual winner. Hobart seniors have the opportunity to do something special and won’t be caught up in the moment as Daniels, Lally and Beaver shine in a win that needs an empty-net goal for breathing room against a very determined and persistent Stout squad – Hobart, 3-1
(4) Aurora v. (6) Hamilton
The Continentals have regained their mojo following the NESCAC tournament and the return of Luke Tchor has bolstered the offense which makes Hamilton very dangerous in what is now a two-game tournament. The Spartans are the last team standing from the NCHA gauntlet and have the horsepower with Jakson Kirk, Hassan Akl and Jaden Davis to stake their claim to the title game berth afforded with a win on Friday. Both teams needed overtime last week to get to their first Frozen Four and no surprise, I am going with bonus hockey to determine a winner in this up-and-down-the-ice thriller – Hamilton, 3-2
It’s an east v. west Friday in Utica! – “Drop the Puck!”
