Michigan is top seed as 2026 NCAA bracket revealed

Michigan is the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Division I men’s championship tournament.

North Dakota (No. 2 overall), Michigan State (3) and defending NCAA champion Western Michigan (4) join the Wolverines as the four regional top seeds, while Dartmouth is making its first tourney appearance since 1980.

The puck will drop on Michigan’s tourney on Friday at 5:30 p.m. vs. Bentley in Albany, N.Y. Minnesota Duluth will take on Penn State in the second game of the Albany regional.

The tournament will officially get underway Thursday in Worcester, Mass., when Michigan State hosts Connecticut at 1:30 p.m., followed by Wisconsin vs. Dartmouth.

Later that day in Sioux Falls, S.D., Providence faces Quinnipiac at 5 p.m. while North Dakota will face Merrimack in the second game.

Minnesota State and Western Michigan will meet in Loveland, Colo., on Friday at 2:30 p.m., followed by host Denver facing Cornell.

The four regional champions will advance to the Frozen Four at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 9 and 11.

Game times for the Frozen Four will be announced at a later date.
