The 10 finalists for the 2026 Hobey Baker Award, representing five different conferences and nine programs, were announced Wednesday.

The finalists include three seniors, two juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen. The list is headlined by high-scoring forwards Ethan Wyttenbach (Quinnipiac), the nation’s current points leader, and Hayden Stavroff (Dartmouth), who leads the country in goals.

B1G leads the way with four finalists, including Trey Augustine, a standout goaltender from Michigan State, and TJ Hughes, the University of Michigan captain and B1G player of the year. Gavin McKenna represents Penn State after a historic eight-point performance earlier this season, while Charlie Stramel (Michigan State) and James Hagens (Boston College) are both first-round NHL draft picks.

The list is rounded out by defensive powerhouse Eric Pohlkamp (Denver), the nation’s top-scoring defenseman; Max Plante (Minnesota Duluth), a second-generation Hobey finalist; and Felix Trudeau (Sacred Heart), the Atlantic Hockey America player of the year.

The ten finalists were selected via a combined vote from all 63 Division I coaches and an initial round of fan balloting. The field will now be evaluated by a 30-member selection committee to determine the three finalists, known as the “Hobey Hat Trick”, to be announced April 2. The winner will be announced April 10 during the NCAA Frozen Four weekend in Las Vegas.
