
Boston College only needed one but scored five with James Hagens netting two of them in the Eagles’ 5-0 win over Maine in Hockey East quarterfinal action.
With the win, Boston College advances to the HEA semifinal round Friday, March 20. With the loss, the Black Bears’ season comes to an end.
Teddy Stiga had the game-winning goal at 4:49 in the first on a play that started Luka Radivojevic at center ice.

James Hagens had two goals and an assist in the game, his first score coming a minute after Stiga’s tally.
Oskar Jellvik and Dean Letourneau also scored for the Eagles.
Louka Cloutier made 18 saves in his fourth shutout of the season. In the Black Bear net, Mathis Rousseau stopped 21-of-24.
AHA Tournament
Bentley 3, Holy Cross 2 (OT)
Michael Mesic tied the game twice for Bentley and Owen Goodbrand scored the game-winning goal at 16:32 in overtime to lift the Falcons over Holy Cross, 3-2, to kick off this best-of-three AHA semifinal series.
Mesic’s goals bookended the third period, his first 20 seconds in on the Bentley power play and his second hitting the empty net at 19:07.

Matthew Kursonis gave Holy Cross a 1-0 lead at 17:32 in the second, and Brody Gagno had the second goal to give the Pioneers the lead again at 14:06 in the third.
Bentley outshot Holy Cross 39-25, including by a 12-3 margin in OT. Lukas Sweden made 23 saves for the Falcons. Danick Leroux stopped 36 for the Pioneers.
Sacred Heart 5, Robert Morris 1
Sacred Heart scored two goals in the first two minutes of the second period to pull ahead of Robert Morris and went on to a 5-1 win, taking the opening game of this best-of-three Atlantic Hockey semifinal series.
The Colonials had a 1-0 lead at the end of one on Ryan Taylor’s early goal, but Marcus Joughin got the Pioneers on the board 37 seconds into the second, with Noah Ellis’s unassisted goal at 1:41 giving Sacred Heart the 2-1 lead.

Jack Hillier’s unassisted goal midway through the second put Sacred Heart up 3-1 after two. Vitaly Levyy and Reid Pabich added goals in the third.
Joughin, Ellis and Pabich each had a goal and an assist in the game and Aiden VanRooyan had two helpers, including on Joughin’s game-tying goal.
Ajeet Gundarah had 23 saves in the win. Charlie Schenkel made 26 saves on 31 shots through the first 51:08 in the Robert Morris net. Lucas Massie finished the game for the Colonials turning away all four shots he faced.
ECAC Tournament
Clarkson 3, No. 7 Quinnipiac 0
Bryce Sookro’s first career goal was the game winner in Clarkson’s 3-0 upset win over Quinnipiac in the first game of the best-of-three ECAC quarterfinal playoffs.
After a scoreless first period, Sookro found the net from Jace Letourneau and Shawn O’Donnell at 2:56 in the second.
Tate Taylor and Erik Bargholtz each had empty-net goals late in the third period.
The Golden Knights outshot the Bobcats 28-7 through the first two periods and 35-24 in the game. Shane Soderwall picked up his second shutout of the season with 24 saves. For Quinnipiac, Dylan Silverstein stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
Havard 3, No. 9 Cornell 1
Ben MacDonald scored the game-winning goal for Harvard shorthanded late in the second period and added the empty-net insurance goal with 1:29 left in regulation to lift Harvard over Cornell, 3-1, in the opening round of ECAC playoff action.
The Crimson led 1-0 on Michael Callow’s goal midway through the first and Luke Ashton tied it for the Big Red at 8:11 in the second.
MacDonald’s game winner came just as four-on-four play ended and Cornell went on the power play at 16:18 in the second period.

Cornell outshot Havard 31-22 in the game. Ben Charette made 30 saves in the win. Alexis Cournoyer stopped 19-of-21 in the Cornell net.
No. 12 Dartmouth 4, Colgate 1
After Jake Schneider gave Colgate a 1-0 lead at 7:53 in the first, Dartmouth’s Ryan Schelling scored unassisted to tie the game four minutes later and the Big Green never looked back, beating Colgate 4-1 in the opening game of this ECAC best-of-three quarterfinal series.
Hank Cleaves had two goals for Dartmouth, including the game-winning marker on the power play at 19:11 in the second.

Hayden Stavroff scored early in the third and Cleaves’ second goal at 6:39 in the third period was the last of the game.
Emmett Croteau stopped 20-of-21 as the Big Green outshot the Red Raiders 37-21. Reid Dyck made 34 saves in the Colgate net.
Princeton 5, No. 20 Union 2
Jake Manfre had two goals including the game winner and Arthur Smith made 29 saves in Princeton’s ECAC quarterfinal win over Union.
The Tigers led 4-0 until the early third period of this one, with Joshua Karnish making it 1-0 after one and Tyler Rubin and Manfre putting Princeton ahead 3-0 after two. Mafre’s game-winning goal came from Jacob Edwards at 7:58 in the second.

Manfre scored his second 23 seconds into the third for that four-goal lead. Ethan Benz put Union on the board at the 15-minute mark before Jaxson Ezman scored an empty-netter to make it 5-1. Parker Lindauer had the second Union goal with just over a minute to go in the game.
Cameron Korpi gets the loss for Union with 14 saves on 18 shots through the first 40:22 of the game. Brayden Gillespie played the final 19:18 for the Garnet Chargers, stopping all five shots he faced.
