AHA Tournament

(12) Mercyhurst at (3) Penn State

Mya Vaslet scored from the slot midway through the first to put Penn State up 1-0. Just more than 20 minutes later, Nicole Hall tipped in a shot from distance from Sophie Marrow to extend the lead to 2-0. Just before the end of the frame, Katelyn Roberts ripped a shot from the top of the zone during the power play to extend the lead to 3-0. But Mercyhurst found a way to push back in the third. First Abby Poitras scored unassisted and then Berlin Lolacher cut the lead to 3-2 with under three to play. But the Penn State defense stood strong and held on to the win for their fourth straight conference tournament championship.

ECAC Tournament

(11) Cornell vs. (7) Yale

Carina D’Antonio had two goals and an assist and Jordan Ray added three assists to lift Yale to a 7-2 win in the ECAC semifinal. Cornell got on the board first as Avi Adam scored 44 seconds into the game, but that did not phase the Bullodgs, who rattled off four unanswered goals before the second intermission. Delaney Fleming scored early in the third to make it a 4-2 game, but Stephanie Stainton’s short-hander was the game-breaker as Yale advanced to the title game.

(8) Quinnipiac vs. (9) Princeton

The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead midway through the second when Taylor Brueske met Mia Lopata’s centering pass at the back door and tapped it in. Angelina DiGirolamo tied things up for Princeton 8:38 into the third. Neither team found the go-ahead goal in regulation. It took less than four minutes of overtime for Avery Bairos to end things for Quinnipiac, following up her own shot to put back the rebound and get the 2-1 win.

Championship
(8) Quinnipiac vs. (7) Yale

This game was all Quinnipiac as Ella Johnson scored on the breakaway in the first, Avery Bairos redirected a puck in the second and Zoe Uens did not miss with a slapper on the power play in the third to put them up 3-0. Mariya Rauf got Yale on the board with about seven to play, but the Bobcats were shut down on offense and then Johnson and Emerson Jarvis each scored on the empty net to secure the 5-1 win.

Hockey East Tournament

Holy Cross vs. (6) Connecticut

This game was tied at the end of the first after each power play goals from UConn’s Kyla Josifovic and Holy Cross’ Violet Carroll. But The Huskies pulled away in the second as Julia Pellerin, Megan Woodworth and Ashley Allard each scored to make it a 4-1 game. Maya Serdachny and Christina Walker added goals in the third to close out the 6-1 win.

Vermont vs. (5) Northeastern

Jules Constantinople and Morgan Jackson scored in the opening frame to put Northeastern up 2-0. Eloïse Caron deflected a puck in early in the third to extend the lead to 3-0. Vermont pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and Natalie Zarcone got the Catamounts on the board, but they ran out of time to mount a comeback and the Huskies took the 3-1 win.

Championship
(6) Connecticut vs. (5) Northeastern

Sadie Hotles scored early in the second on a puck that got lost in chaos and slid into the net. Rylie Jones responded for Northeastern less than five minutes later, sniping a shot on the power play to make it a 1-1 game. From there, it was a battle of attrition as it took more than 48 minutes after that goal to find a winner. UConn made 39 blocks in the game and goalie Tia Chan made a career high 57 saves, 33 of which came in the two overtime periods. Northeastern goalie Lisa Jönsson made 54 saves, 28 of which came in the extra frames. Late in the second overtime, UConn entered the zone three across and moved the puck from left to right. Claire Murdoch’s shot was kick-saved by Jönsson, but it went right to Kyla Josifovic, who put back the rebound to win the game and give Connecticut the Hockey East Tournament title.

NEWHA Tournament

Saint Anselm vs. Assumption

Brooklyn Schneiderhan scored twice and freshman goalie Kayla Czukoski made 44 saves to carry Saint Anselm to the NEWHA title game. Ava McGaffigan scored on the power play for Assumption in the loss.

Stonehill vs. Franklin Pierce

FPU outshot Stonehill 48-14 over the first two periods, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. With under eight to play in regulation, Seina Spadone fired a shot past Jill Hertl to give Stonehill the 1-0 lead. Franklin Pierce took advantage of a power play with under three to play to tie the game with a goal from Hailey Anderson. Neither team had an aswer in the first overtime, but five minutes into the second extra frame, FPU once again received a power play and they capitalized as Abigail Broz found the top corner to earn a 2-1 win for the Ravens. Eve Stone made 63 saves in the loss for Saint Anselm.

Championship
Saint Anselm vs. Franklin Pierce

Jill Hertl made 41 saves and earned a shut out for the Ravens. Bo Dean scored at the tail end of a power play on a feed from behind the net by Hailey Anderson to make it a 1-0 game 3:50 in. The semifinal 2OT hero Abigail Broz scored on a breakaway in the third and that was enough for Franklin Pierce to secure the win and NEWHA Tournament title.
