(2) Ohio State at (1) Wisconsin
Read our recap from Saturday’s game here. On Sunday, The Badgers bounced back with a 4-1 win of their own thanks in large part to their special teams. UW killed five OSU power plays while scoring on two of their four player advantages – including in both part of a five on three late in the third period to help put the game out of reach. Lacey Eden opened the scoring in the waning minutes of the first, stealing the puck off a Buckeye before cycling up and cutting in to the net to make it 1-0. A minute into the second, Eden hit Cassie Hall in stride on a breakaway after a turnover and she deked the goalie to score and make it 2-0. Ohio State cut the lead in half on a goal from the right side of the slot by Kaia Malachino. Overlapping penalties to the Buckeyes in the third gave the Badgers the chance to pull away and they took advantage. First Laney Potter scored from basically even with the goal line and seconds later, Finley McCarthy cleaned up the rebound on a long shot from Ava Murphy to give Wisconsin the 4-1 lead they’d carry until the final buzzer.

On Saturday, the Tommies out-shot the Gophers for the second straight day but had a better result. The Gophers scored with 18.7 seconds left in the first on a power play goal from Jamie Nelson and that’s all they’d be able to get past Julia Minotti. St. Thomas’ Whitney Horton tipped in a shot midway through the third to tie the game and force overtime. After that didn’t decide the game, Sydney Morrow was the lone skater to score in the shootout, which gave Minnesota the extra league point.
