Forward Tynan Lawrence — the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 NHL Draft, according to The Athletic — will join Boston University for the remainder of this season, the school announced on Tuesday.
Lawrence recorded 10 goals and 7 assists in 13 games this season for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. In 2024-25, he led the team in goals and was second overall in scoring with a line of 25-29-54, good for 17th in the USHL.
This is the second significant mid-season addition for BU in as many years, having signed Mikhail Yegorov in January 2025. Yegorov started 18 games last season and has started 18 so far this season.
Lawrence, a 17-year-old Canadian from Fredericton, N.B., committed to BU last summer and was originally slated to join the Terriers at the beginning of the 2026-27 season.
