St. Cloud State junior defenseman Kaleb Tiessen has left the team and signed a pro contract with the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush.
Tiessen skated in five games this season for the Huskies with no points and a plus-1 rating.
“I really thought Kaleb improved and developed over the last couple years,” SCSU coach Brett Larson said to St. Cloud Live. “He worked extremely hard. He was a player who did a lot of extra work. He came back to the rink to shoot pucks or do workouts or spend extra time on the ice. He really put in the time and effort.
“With all that said, I think he saw the opportunity to play here wasn’t getting any easier and decided to make a decision to play hockey games this year.”
In three seasons with the Huskies, Tiessen played in 22 games and was held pointless with two penalty minutes and a minus-1 rating.
