D-II/III Men’s Ice Hockey GOTW Picks – November 14, 2025

Forward Jacob Suede leads his unbeaten Adrian squad into a key NCHA battle with undefeated Aurora (Phot by Adrian Athletics)

Just when you think you can’t get better than last week’s matchups, the new week comes along and all you can say is WOW! Lots of marque matchups in and out of conference and finally all the leagues are playing with NESCAC games on the schedule this weekend.

Here are this week’s picks for all eleven conferences playing this weekend and believe me it was hard to pick just one GOTW in the respective conferences:

Friday, November 14, 2025 – Sunday, November 16, 2025

CNE

Wentworth v. (13) Endicott

While Curry and UNE have been getting a lot of the attention, do not sleep on the Gulls who are also nationally ranked and are very dangerous contenders in the CNE. Lots of depth in the forward group means Endicott is dangerous no matter which line is skating and add a factor on top being the home team. Slow start with a strong finish for the home team in a win over the Leopards – Endicott, 4-2

Little East

Norwich v, (15) Babson

New league same old rivalry that always produces entertaining hockey no matter which rink it is played in. The Beavers are off to a strong start and want to continue early Little East success against an always competitive Cadet squad under new head coach and alum, Dominick Dawes. Low-scoring as is typical in this affair with a PPG being decisive for the home team – Babson, 2-1

MAC

Wilkes v. Lebanon Valley

It seems like a simple formula as to why the Colonels have had early success this season. Already ten players recording goals showing offensive balance and the goaltending of Duncan Rolleman who has surrendered just three goals in four games played and produced back-to-back shutouts last weekend against King’s. Look for more of the same in a comfortable win on the road – Wilkes, 5-3

MASCAC

Salem State v. Anna Maria

This is a matchup of key contenders for the MASCAC title this season so look for a playoff atmosphere as both teams try to find their footing early in the season. The AmCats need to get some positive momentum on home ice and should carry over some of that from a Thursday night win over Western Connecticut. League wins and points matter and may factor into end of year tiebreakers come playoffs. Enough motivation for both teams with the home team getting an OT win – AMC, 4-3

MIAC

Gustavus Adolphus v. St Olaf

The MIAC campaign kicks off with a re-match of last year’s title game that went the way of Gustavus Adolphus. This one will be a one-goal game as they often seem to be and all the Gusties have played so far this season. The rewards aren’t as big as a win was last spring but beating a rival and key competitor for this season will have to do as the home team ekes it pout with a late goal – St Olaf, 2-1

NCHA

(2) Adrian v. (3) Aurora

To be honest it really wasn’t difficult to pick the GOTW for the NCHA this week but it probably is the GOTW for the country this weekend as one team is going to suffer their first loss after perfect 4-0 starts. Star players like Jacob Suede (Adrian) and Hassan Akl (Aurora) will certainly be impactful on the ice but look for some lesser-known players to make the difference in a hard-fought Spartans win in front of their passionate home fans – Aurora, 4-3

NESCAC

Amherst v. (9) Hamilton

Game one in the pursuit of back-to-back titles starts with a travel partner game against the Mammoth and their new coach Eddie Effinger. Don’t expect the Continentals to rollout any red carpet for the opposition as Jackson Krock & Company score enough to take with win with an empty-net goal providing the final margin – Hamilton, 4-2

NE-10

Assumption v. St Michael’s

The Purple Knights started strong last week with a pair of road wins against rival St Anselm. This week they return home to play another recent NE-10 champion with a lot of offensive firepower. This game will see a lot of offense with a late power play goal from Quinn McCarthy picking up the win for the home team –            St Michael’s, 5-4

SUNYAC

Plattsburgh v. (1) Hobart

TRAP GAME ALERT – after sweeping two games from rival Elmira and then beating Utica in a home-and home series, the Statemen play host to the Cardinals in their first SUNYAC game. There was a lot of drama and intensity to last week’s games so hopefully the home team has put it in the rearview and focus on a physical PSU squad coming to “The Cooler.” This one may be another overtime thriller – Hobart, 3-2

UCHC

Nazareth v. Chatham

After winning the Buffalo State Tournament and sweeping a two-game series with Fredonia, the Cougars are relishing their 4-0 start as they enter UCHC play against a tough Nazareth team. Nick Cyprian is already on a two-point per game pace and that spells trouble for the Golden Flyers this weekend as the Cougars win a close one – Chatham, 4-2

WIAC

Wisconsin – Eau Claire v. Augsburg

The Blugolds will be looking to build some positive momentum before WIAC games begin next week and would like to build some success first against Concordia and then the always disciplined Augsburg team on Saturday. Would not be surprised to see this game play some bonus hockey for the local fans who get to leave happy with an OT win – UWEC, 3-2

It will be interesting to see which teams build on momentum, start building momentum or for some turn one shift at a time into a successful formula for winning hockey – “Drop the Puck!”
