St. Lawrence at (7) Quinnipiac
Kahlen Lamarche continued her torrid pace, scoring the first two goals in this game to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead by the opening minutes of the second. St. Lawrence took a bit to find their way, but responded with two goals in the third to tie the game with about six to play in regulation. In overtime, Tessa Holk picked up a loose puck of a failed clearnace and fluttered up and into the net to give the Bobcats the 3-2 win
(11) Clarkson at (7) Quinnipiac
These two teams skated for 65 minutes without either being able to break through. Clarkson was 0-for-2 on the power play while Quinnipiac was 0-for-3. In the shootout, Janelle Evans netted the lone goal to give the edge to Clarkson.
Boston College vs. (8) Connecticut
Maxim Tremblay scored midway through the first to put BC up 1-0. The Eagles carried that lead into the second but Claire Murdoch tied the game up at the half point of the game to make it 1-1 heading into the final frame. Sadie Hotles got the game-winner with about four to play and Kyla Josifovic added an empty-netter to secure the 3-1 win. In the second game, UConn outshot the Eagles 48–24, but Ava Thomas’ shot from distance with 3.3 seconds left in regulation was the difference-maker, giving BC the 2-1 win and weekend split. Olivia Maffeo got BC on the board in the first and Martha Mobarak replied for the Huskies in the second. It looked like overtime was inevitable before Thomas unleashed a shot to beat the buzzer and give BC the win.
Vermont at (9) Northeastern
The Huskies scored once per period on Friday to get a 3-0 win. Lisa Jonsson had a 20-save shutout as Styrker Zablocki, Lily Brazis and Morgan Jackson were the goal scorers for Northeastern in the win. In the second game, NU struck first, as Lily Shannon’s power play goal made it 1-0. But Vermont responded with a goal from Mya Lawrence to make it a 1-1 game at the first intermission. The Catamounts took a 2-1 lead less than a minute into the second on a goal from Oona Havana. Zablocki scored her second of the weekend to tie the game just a few minutes later. Jules Constantinople’s power play goal later in the middle frame put Northeastern up 3-2. The defense picked it up in the third to shut down any comeback and secure the win and weekend sweep.
(11) Clarkson at Princeton
These two teams could not find the best of each other through 60 minutes. Then Princeton’s Riley Sorokan scored her first career goal in the overtime frame to give the Tigers the 1-0 win. She wrapped around the net to beat Holly Gruber who had 24 saves in the loss. Uma Corniea had 26 saves and earned the win.
RIT at (13) Colgate
Colgate raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first thanks to goals from Dorothy Copetti, Emma Pais and Elyssa Biederman. RIT clawed back with a pair of power play goals in the second thanks to Ireland Stein and Emma Pickering to make it a 3-2 game. Alexis Petford scored an extra-attacker goal of her own at the end of the second to push Colgate’s lead to 4-2. Madeline Palumbo’s late third period goal completed the 5-2 win for the Raiders. In the second game, Colgate took a 1-0 lead into the intermission thanks to a goal from Pais. Tilli Keraenen’s shot from the slot six minutes into the second tied the game for RIT. Stein scored midway through the third to five RIT the lead and Pickering added an empty-netter to help the Tigers secure their second win over a ranked opponent this season. Sophia Bellina made 36 saves and the defense added 21 blocks to help secure the win.
(14) St. Thomas at Bemidji State
On Friday, the Tommies scored once in each the first and second period to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Chloe Boreen had the first goal and Jenessa Gazdik the second to send the Tommies into the third frame in the lead. They broke it open in the third as Rylee Bartz, Ella Boerger and Ilsa Lindaman all lit the lamp, leading St. Thomas to a 5-0 win. In the second game, the Tommies nearly doubled BSU up in shots, but the Beavers took advantage of their opportunities. Izy Fairchild scored shorthanded just three minutes into the game to put Bemidji up 1-0. That score held for nearly 40 minutes until Shelby Sandberg scored unassisted to extend the lead to 2-0. Chloe Boreen pulled one back for St. Thomas late in the game, but they ran out of time and Bemidji took the 2-1 win to split the weekend.
Delaware at (15) Brown
On Saturday, Brown took a 3-0 win. Isabella Gratzl, Monique Lyons and Margot Norehad all scored in the victory. On Sunday, Charlotte Payne made 51 saves for Delaware while her defense blocked 44 shots, but the Blue Hens couldn’t hold on and Brown eked out a 3-2 win in overtime. Avery Lian’s first career goal from the top of the circle late in the first had the Bears up 1-0. Less than a minute later Lyons redirected a shot into the net to make it 2-0 Brown at the first intermission. Delaware pushed back in the second. First Tiana McIntyre’s shot went bar down and in, then Katelynn Charlton picked up the rebound to tie the game 2-2. The Blue Hens had just nine shots on the day, but made them count. Neither team found a winner in regulation, but in regulation Gratzl forced a turnover and found India McDadi, who scored to give Brown the 3-2 OT win.
