It was a pair of rookies leading the way for UND, with Keaton Verhoeff tallying the game’s only goal on the power play in the second period while goaltender Jan Špunar made 17 saves in his first collegiate start to record the shutout.

Seven different players lit the lamp for Providence in the Friars’ 7-4 win and series sweep over St. Thomas from the Lee & Penny Anderson in St. Paul, Minn.
Clint Levens opened the scoring for Providence only to see the Tommies score the next four off the sticks of Hayes Hundley, Lucas Wahlin, Bauer Berry and Alex Gaffney.
The Friars then scored the next six goals, Kale McCallum, Will Elger, Hudson Malinoski, Jonathan Fauchon, John Mustard and Graham Gamache doing the honors.
