Michigan State back at No. 1 in Oct. 20 USCHO.com Division I Men’s Hockey Poll with 29 first-place votes

With 29 first-place votes, Michigan State is back atop the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Hockey Poll, up two spots from last week.

Western Michigan remains No. 2, getting nine first-place votes, while Michigan is up one spot to No. 3 with 11 first-place votes in this week’s poll.

Boston University falls three to No. 4 and Penn State moves up one to No. 5, picking up the last first-place vote.

USCHO.com Division I Men’s Hockey Poll – Oct. 20, 2025

Quinnipiac is up four to No. 6, Denver drops two to No. 7, North Dakota stays eighth and Boston College is again ninth, and Maine falls three places to No. 10 this week.

Previously unranked Minnesota Duluth enters the poll this week at No. 18.

In addition to the top 20, 16 other teams received votes in this week’s rankings.

The USCHO.com Division I Men’s Hockey Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 50 voters, including coaches and media professionals from across the country. Media outlets may republish this poll as long as USCHO.com is credited.
