No. 3 Michigan State completed a two-game road sweep of top-ranked Boston University, winning 4-3 in overtime on Saturday spoiling a late-game comeback from the Terriers.

Matt Basgall scored the game-winning goal with just 1:10 remaining in the 3-on-3 overtime. That came after Kamil Bednarik and Conrad Fondrk scored in a span of less than two minutes at the end of regulation to rally the Terriers and force overtime.

Michigan State again jumped to an early lead, this time on Ryker Lee’s first-period tally, extending it late in the second on a Porter Martone goal.

The Terriers and Spartans traded goals in the third minute of the third period with Gavin McCarthy scoring for BU and Tommi Mannisto answering 39 seconds later.

No. 13 Minnesota 5, No 8 North Dakota 1

Minnesota’s offense exploded at the right time, scoring four times in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and salvage a weekend split against non-conference rival North Dakota, 5-1.
