Women’s Hockey Weekend Wrap – October 13, 2025

(4) Minnesota Duluth at (1) Wisconsin

Read the game one recap here. Special teams took control in the second game as Wisconsin scored three times on the power play en route to a 4-0 win and weekend sweep. KK Harvey opened the scoring in the first with a nifty shoulder fake like she was going to circle the net. Instead she shot from a tight angle, placing the puck over Ève Gascon’s shoulder into the far corner to make it 1-0 Badgers. In the second, Laney Potter tapped in a shot on a nice pass from Adéla Šapovalivová to extend the lead to 2-0. Then Šapovalivová got a goal of her own, tipping in a Lacey Eden shot to make it 3-0. And following suit, Eden scored a goal of her own in the third, one-timing a Kirsten Simms pass to make it 40. Gascon was outstanding in the series, making 95 saves across the two games.

Bemidji State at (2) Ohio State

The Buckeyes came out firing on Friday, scoring three goals in the first 4:21. The allowed just two shots and headed to the first intermission up 4-0 thanks to two goals from Jocelyn Amos and a goal each from Sanni Vanhanen and Sloane Matthews. Jordyn Petrie and Sara Swiderski added goals in the second to make it 6-0 and Hailey MacLeod made six of her nine saves in the third to secure the win and shutout. It was a tougher road for OSU on Sunday. Bemidji scored first on a power play goal midway through the opening frame by Hailey Armstrong. Emma Peschel’s shot from distance beat senior goalie Ava HIlls just before the end of the first to tie the game 1-1. Hilda Svensson tipped a long shot from Mira Jungåker to give Ohio State the 2-1 lead midway though the game. Neither team was about to muster any more offense and Ohio State. Hills made 50 saves in her first Bemidji Start but fell just short of getting the win.

(10) St. Cloud State vs. (3) Minnnesota

Friday’s game started slow as both teams tried to feel the other out. But Minnesota came to life in the second. Josefin Bouveng opened the scoring 70 seconds in with a beautiful shot after Sarah Paul forced a turnover. St. Cloud forced a turnover of their own and Maria Mikaelyan tied the game for the Huskies, but it didn’t last long. Abbey Murphy cleaned up a rebound three minutes later and then Paul sniped a shot less than a minute after to make it a 3-1 game in favor of the Gophers. Tereza Plosová added an empty netter in the third to secure a 4-1 win for Minnesota. The second game of the home and home series was in St. Cloud and the home team had the lone goal of the first as Lauren Zimmerman’s shot deflected off the post and in. The Gophers tied it up early in the second when Chloe Primerano’s shot went off the post and in. Murphy put Minnesota up 2-1, one-timing in a pass from behind the net from Bouveng. SCSU replied when Avery Farrell’s shot deflected right to Mikaelyan’s stick in front of the net. Her game made it 2-2. Just before intermission, a Gopher odd-player rush resulted in a Nelli Laintinen shot that rebounded to Murphy in the slot. She buried the shot to make it 3-2 Minnesota. But St. Cloud responded again, this time with less than a minute left in the frame on Grace Wolfe’s one-timer. In the third, Paul scored early on a two-on-one rush and wraparound that would prove to be the game-winner. Emma Kreisz scored her first of the season midway through the third to secure the 5-3 win and weekend sweep for the Gophers.

(6) Penn State at Delaware

Grace Outwater’s hat trick led the Nittany Lions to a 5-0 win on Friday. Sophie Morrow and Maddy Christian each also lit the lamp in the win. On Saturday, Matilde Fantin and Danica Maynard each had two goals and an assist while Christan added two goals to cartt Penn State to a 7-0 win and weekend sweep. Nicole Hall also scored in the victory. Mattie Robitzer made 63 saves for Delaware in the loss.

(7) Quinnipiac at Syracuse

In the first game, the Bobcats scored once per frame and Felicia Frank earned her sixth career shutout as Quinnipiac took a 3-0 win. Kahlen Lamarche scored twice, Emerson Jarvis scored her first of the season and Aynsley D’Ottavio had two assists. On Saturday, Lamarche opened the scoring and Zoe Uens added a power play goal in the first to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. Quinnipiac followed a similar pattern in the second as Laurence Frenette scored 36 seconds in and Bryn Prier later added a power play goal to extend the lead to 4-0. Emma Gnade got Syracuse on the board in the third to cut into the lead, but they couldn’t do more to get past the Bobcats and Lamarche added her fourth on the weekend shorthanded to secure the 5-1 win and weekend sweep. Quinnipiac is 6-0 to start the season.

(14) Boston University at (8) Colgate

Lexie Bertelsen’s goal had BU up 1-0 in the first and it looked like that’s how teams would head to the first intermission, but Emma Pais found the back of the net with 26 seconds left on the clock to make it 1-1 at the break. In the second, Pais put Colgate ahead with a power play goal. The Terriers couldn’t break through and Ava Wood’s empty-netter at the end of the third secured the 3-1 win for the Raiders. In the second game of the series, the goalies stood strong, keeping things scoreless thorugh the first. Colgate broke through in the second as Pais scored twice to make it a 2-0 game. Things really broke open in the third as BU tied the game before eight minutes elapsed thanks to goals from Kaileigh Quigg and Clara Yuhn. Casey Borgiel put the Raiders back ahead around the midpoint of the frame, but that lasted less than a minute as Lilli Welcke responded to make it a 3-3 game. Alexis Petford scored the deciding goal and Colgate withstood a push from Boston University to take the 4-3 win. BU made 18 blocks in the game.

Vermont at (12) St. Lawrence

The two teams fought back and forth for more than two periods on Saturday before Abby Hehl broke through on the power play to give St. Lawrence a 1-0 lead. Anna Podein hit the crossbar for Vermont in hunt of an equalizer, but it looked like the Saints were going to hold on. Morgann Skoda made one last ditch effort to get the puck to the goal-front in the waning seconds. It hit traffic and deflected in, tying the game with just 4.6 seconds left in regulation. Neither team found the net in overtime, leaving this one a 1-1 time. Ellie Simmons made a career-high 33 saves for Vermont. Remarkably, the second game took a very similar path as the teams played scoreless hockey for more than 40 minutes. This time the Catamounts scored first as Kaylee Lewis tipped in a shot from Natalie Zarcone on the power play to make it 1-0. St. Lawrence pulled their goalie in the final minute and found the equalizer on a goal from Kiley Mastel. With under two to play in the extra frame, Rose-Marie Brochu’s defensive play sent Oona Havana down the ice on an odd-player rush. Havana’s snipe was her first goal of the seasons, giving UVM the win and their first-ever points from St. Lawrence.

Providence at (13) Northeastern

Éloïse Caron scored midway through the frame and Stryker Zablocki got her first career goal to give Northeastern a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. Lily Shannon scored 39 seconds into the second and then Jules Constantinople found the back of the net on the power play to make it a 4-0 lead. Lisa Jönsson made 18 saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

RPI at (13) Northeastern

After a quiet start to the game, things came alive in the final 10 minutes of the opening frame. Holly Abela scoredo on the power play to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead, but RPI replied just 38 seconds later on a goal from Charlotte Wensley. But Northeastern quickly regained control as Jaden Bogden and Tuva Kandell each lit the lamp to give the Huskies a 3-1 lead at the end of the first. Morgan Jackson, Lily Shannon and Bodgen all scored in the second to extend the lead and NU took a 6-1 win. Freshman goaltender Renna Trembecky earned her first career win in her first career start.
