WCHA issues one-game suspension to Alaska’s Marino for slashing, facemasking against Minnesota State

The WCHA has announced a one-game suspension to Alaska junior forward Kyle Marino.

The suspension is a result of Marino’s actions in the Nanooks’ game with Minnesota State on Friday, Feb. 22.

Marino received a five-minute major for slashing at the conclusion of the first period and a five-minute major for facemasking and a game misconduct at the 16:20 mark of the second period.

Upon review, it was determined that his actions warranted the suspension, according to a WCHA news release.

Alaska’s next scheduled game is Saturday, Feb. 23, at home against Minnesota State. Marino is eligible to return for Alaska’s next game on Friday, March 1 at Alaska Anchorage.
