WCHA suspends Ferris State’s Wendt one game for head contact penalty against Northern Michigan

The WCHA announced Saturday a one-game suspension for Ferris State freshman forward Hunter Wendt, effective for the Bulldogs’ next NCAA Division I game.

The suspension is a result of Wendt’s five-minute major penalty and game misconduct infraction for contact to the head, which occurred at the 15:12 mark of the second period in Ferris State’s game on Friday, Dec. 14 at Northern Michigan.

According to a press release, “the hit was delivered in a manner that warranted the suspension.”

Ferris State’s next game is today at Northern Michigan.

Wendt is eligible to return for the Bulldogs’ game at Minnesota on Friday, Dec. 28.
