Quinnipiac’s Pecknold joins U.S. staff for Under-18 World Championship

Quinnipiac coach Rand Pecknold will be part of the U.S. coaching staff at the 2018 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship.

USA Hockey on Tuesday announced the staff, led by former Rensselaer coach Seth Appert, now a head coach at the National Team Development Program.

The tournament runs April 19 to 29 in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk, Russia.

Pecknold was an assistant coach for the U.S. at the 2017 IIHF Men’s World Championship. He just completed his 24th season at Quinnipiac.

Nick Fohr, Mason Graddock and Thomas Speer also are assistant coaches with the U.S. team.
