Miami 4, No. 12 North Dakota 3 (OT)

OXFORD, Ohio — Last-place Miami rallied from down 3-0 to pull out the overtime victory and drop visiting North Dakota into fourth place in the NCHC.

Ben Lown crowned himself the hero when his game-winning goal came at 0:59 of the extra period. Grant Hutton had the lone helper. To send it to overtime, Gordie Green netted the tying goal at 4:00 of the third period and Josh Melnick also had a lone helper on the play. Alec Mahalak and Phil Knies at 8:23 of the second frame and 1:24 of the third frame sparked the rally.

UND’s Grant Mismash opened the scoring at 13:54 of the first period and gave way for a UND surge in goals. Christian Wolanin followed at 2:17 of the second frame by way of 5-on-3 power play.

Miami goalie Ryan Larkin made 14 saves compared to Cam Johnson’s 23 saves.
