SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Harvard’s first game without the country’s leading goal scorer didn’t go so well for the Crimson.
Union scored twice in the second period to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 3-1 win over Harvard. With the win, the third-place Dutchmen extended their lead over the fourth-place Crimson to three points in the ECAC Hockey standings.
Freshman Liam Morgan had two goals for Union, while Ty Pelton-Byce scored for Harvard. The Crimson were without Ryan Donato, the leading goal scorer in Division I, who left for South Korea earlier this week to play in the Winter Olympics for Team USA.
Union’s Jake Kupsky made 30 saves for the win, while Michael Lackey stopped 27 shots for Harvard.
