GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Colorado College stunned No. 8 North Dakota on the road, silencing the raucous Ralph Engelstad crowd with a 4-2 victory.
Despite a combined 16 penalties, neither team converted a power-play goal. Troy Conzo tallied the first two CC goals, including the NCHC program’s first shorthanded tally this season, which forced Fighting Hawks goaltender Cam Johnson to the bench halfway through the contest.
Westin Michaud picked up one of the game winning assists on sophomore defenseman Alex Pernitsky’s first NCAA goal and the empty-net clincher for the sixth-place Tigers, who improved to 12-11-4, and moved within one point of fourth place and home playoff ice.
