Butrus Ghafari, Austin Kramer, and Patrick Khodoreko all notched first-period goals for the Spartans on route to a 6-3 victory Saturday night in Columbus. Ohio State held a 30-24 shot advantage over Michigan State; however, Spartans goaltender John Lethemon was up to the task and made 27 saves to hand the Buckeyes only their second loss in their last 12 games. David Keefer and Carson Gatt gave the Spartans a 5-1 advantage late in the second period and put the game out of reach. Ohio State responded with two consecutive power-play goals courtesy of Matthew Weis and Ronie Hein to cut the deficit to 5-3. However, it was too little, too late. Logan Lambdin tallied an empty-net goal with 1:27 remaining in the third period to end the scoring at 6-3.
