Wisconsin 4, Penn State 2

After falling behind 2-1 in the first period, No. 20 Wisconsin rallied with three goals in the third period to defeat No. 16 Penn State 4-2 at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions netted a pair of goals in the first period. Liam Folkes got things going with a goal at the 5:07 mark. Later in the period, Denis Smirnov gave his team back the lead with a power-play goal.

For the Badgers, Malone Seamus tallied Wisconsin’s first goal and only one through the first two periods. In the final frame, Josh Ess knotted the game at two. With 3:51 remaining in regulation, Will Johnson scored to give the Badgers the lead over their Big Ten foe. Trent Frederic finished things off with an empty-net goal late in the third.
