At Yost Ice Arena, Michigan (11-10-2, 6-7-2-1 Big 10 Conference) broke open a 1-0 game with three third period goals to knock off No. 12 Penn State (13-9-3, 6-6-3-2 Big Ten).
Josh Becker scored a first period goal at 12:27 assisted by Josh Norris and Jake Slaker. Becker added a third period goal at 10:38 off assists from Joseph Cecconi and Michael Pastujov.
Josh Norris scored at 14:29 off assists from Slaker and Sam Piazza and Brendan Warren added an empty-net, shorthanded goal.
Sophomore Hayden Lavigne had 34 saves for the Wolverines and sophomore Peyton Jones had 31 saves for the Nittany Lions.
