Goals from five different scorers and freshman Cayden Primeau’s 17 saves helped the Huskies complete a Hockey East weekend sweep at Matthews Arena and, at least temporarily, take a one-point lead over Boston College in the league standings. Brandon Hawkins scored the game-winning goal with 4:50 left in regulation. After the Huskies’ Grant Jozefek scored the game’s first goal just 5:10 in, Alexis Binner and Mitchell Fossier responded to give Maine a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. The hosts then scored four straight goals to finish off the win. Eric Williams, Dylan Sikura, and Nolan Stevens recorded the other goals for Northeastern, which extended its unbeaten streak to nine games. Stevens, Williams, and Adam Gaudette (two assists) all recorded two-point games for the Huskies, while Fossier was the lone multi-point Maine scorer. Jeremy Swayman made 32 saves in the Maine net, including 14 in the first period.
