With just six seconds remaining in overtime, Philip Beaulieu found the back of the net, pushing Northern Michigan (13-10-3, 11-5-2-2 WCHA) to a 4-3 win and a series sweep of Bowling Green State. The Falcons (12-8-6, 9-4-5-2 WCHA) got on the board first with a goal from Mitch McLain. The Wildcats answered back in the second with goals courtesy of Troy Loggins and Jordan Klimek. With time running out in regulation, Cameron Wright beat Atte Tolvanen at the 18:31 mark of the third period to force overtime. In the extra session, the two teams combined for just three shots; three-on-three looked inevitable until Beaulieu earned his sixth goal of the season. Tolvanen stopped 19 of 21 to pick up the win. Across the ice, Ryan Bednard made 21 stops on 24 shots.
