The Golden Griffins and Saints finished tied in the goals and shots (40-40) categories in a non-league affair at Appleton Arena. Simon Hoffley and Daniel Mannella each made 36 saves to move to 2-1-1 on the season for their respective teams.
Four different SLU skaters scored goals, including Carson Gicewicz who tied the game with his first of the season at 12:02 of the third period. Canisius scored twice on the power play and once at even strength over the second and third frames, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead with less than nine minutes to play.
Nick Hutchison scored twice for the Golden Griffins, while Felix Chamberland and Grant Meyer each had multi-assist efforts.
