Four current NCAA players have been named to Team Canada’s roster for the Spengler Cup, which will be held from Dec. 26-31 in Davos, Switzerland.

It is the fifth and final tournament in which Team Canada will compete as it prepares for the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Northeastern sophomore defenseman Jeremy Davies and senior forward Dylan Sikura will play for Canada, along with Notre Dame senior forward Jake Evans and Boston University senior defenseman Brandon Hickey.

“The Spengler Cup allows us an opportunity to take another look at some players who’ve been part of earlier teams, as well as work with some new faces, just given how it aligns with other league schedules,” said Team Canada GM Sean Burke in a statement. “Our goal remains to put together the best possible team to compete in PyeongChang in February. We’re looking forward to this opportunity to work with new players, and take part in this historic event.”

In addition to Team Canada, the six-team field will include host HC Davos, HPK Hämeenlinna (Finland), Mountfield HK (Czech Republic), Dinamo Riga (KHL) and the Swiss National Team.
