Northeastern announces Cockerill, Pecararo no longer part of program

Northeastern announced on Saturday that senior defenseman Garret Cockerill is no longer a member of the men’s hockey team.

In addition, the university announced that junior forward Liam Pecararo will not attend Northeastern during the spring 2018 semester and plans to reenroll in the fall of 2018.

“I would like to thank Garret for his hard work with our program for the past three-plus seasons,” said Northeastern coach Jim Madigan in a statement. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Cockerill appeared in 122 career games at Northeastern, recording 19 goals and 65 assists for 84 points. He also blocked 198 shots during his tenure and was a member of the Huskies’ 2016 Hockey East championship team.
