Trinity assistant Roundy joins Holy Cross staff in similar role

Holy Cross announced Thursday it has named former Stonehill captain and Trinity assistant coach Peter Roundy as a new assistant coach.

“I am very excited to welcome Peter Roundy to our coaching staff,” said Crusaders coach David Berard in a statement. “Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to our program from his experience at Trinity College, where he spent the past four years and helped guide the Bantams to a Division III national championship. He is a tireless worker, driven to succeed and passionate about coaching. Peter understands what it takes to build a championship level program and recruit quality student-athletes at a school with high academic standards. His transition will be seamless and he will use his skills to make a positive impact on our players and staff. I am delighted that Peter will be joining us at Holy Cross.”

Roundy spent the last four seasons at Trinity College. This past season, he served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Bantams.

“I would like to thank Coach Berard and the Holy Cross athletic department for the opportunity to join such a prestigious academic institution,” said Roundy in a news release. “The energy and enthusiasm around campus, within the athletic department and the hockey program makes it a very exciting time to be joining the Holy Cross community. I am eager to begin working with Coach Berard, Coach Sheahan and the players to build off of the foundation of last season.”

Roundy started his coaching career at Becker, where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Hawks in 2010-2011.

A 2010 graduate of Stonehill College, Roundy was a four-year member and two-time captain of the hockey team.
