Atlantic Hockey suspends Niagara’s Dineen, Holy Cross’ Scarth one game each

Atlantic Hockey on Tuesday announced two one-game suspensions to Niagara junior defenseman Matt Dineen and Holy Cross freshman forward Matt Scarth.

Dineen was assessed his suspension for his checking from behind major penalty during the Purple Eagles’ contest against Air Force on Friday, Jan. 9. Dineen was given major and game disqualification penalties at the 19:48 mark of the second period. He has already sat out Niagara’s next game, which was on Saturday, Jan. 10 against Air Force, and will now miss Niagara’s next game this Friday, Jan. 16, against North Dakota.

Scarth was given a five-minute major penalty for high sticking at the 19:10 mark of the first period last Saturday against Canisius. After video review, the AHC assessed the suspension. Scarth is ineligible for Holy Cross’ next game on Friday at Mercyhurst.
