Wilson gives up senior season at Massachusetts-Lowell to sign with Penguins

Scott Wilson has signed an entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins and won’t return for his senior season at Massachusetts-Lowell.

Wilson, a forward, was a seventh-round draft pick by the Penguins in 2011.

He had 39 goals and 95 points in 109 games with the River Hawks over three seasons and was the Hockey East rookie of the year in 2012.

This season, he had seven goals and 19 points in 31 games.

Wilson’s contract with the Penguins covers the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
