Dzingel gives up final season at Ohio State to sign with Ottawa

Hobey Baker Award finalist Ryan Dzingel has agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators and will forgo his final season at Ohio State.

A first-team all-Big Ten selection, Dzingel is expected to sign an amateur tryout contract and join the Binghamton Senators of the AHL.

The forward is tied for seventh nationally in goals with 22 and is tied for 12th with 46 points.

In three seasons at Ohio State, he had 45 goals and 108 points in 110 games.

A Wheaton, Ill., native, Dzingel was a seventh-round pick of the Senators in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
